Is Medieval Logic Formal?

Katarina Dutel Novais: I was going to finish the whole discussion by asking you whether it makes sense to talk about medieval logic as being formal and what that would mean for medieval logic. But now I'm wondering whether the answer is just, well, it depends because it depends what formal means. And so, kill word, be's logic would be formal in maybe a different sense than say, Occam's,. Because I presume Occam wouldn't have these kind of very robust metaphysical assumptions about what a syllogism is.
