SVB's collapse happened so quickly, it was like it just came out of nowhere. Mismanagement, high interest rates, and social media all played a role in the bank's demise. High interest rates would equate to a higher cost of doing business for SVB clients. Many startups and VCs had a whole lot of spare cash on their hands during COVID pandemic.
