What Do You Like About Progress?

Roland Martin's new book is called "Theory of Progress" In it he tries to make a distinction between two different ways that progress seems to play into the project of critical social theory. He says reading history as a story of progress can actually be an impediment to having a progressive critical theory articulating a conception of non-domination, which would do justice to colonial racism.
