The Importance of Adapting to Training
We get seduced into the need to see progress. So training becomes about proving instead of adapting. This is probably one of the most dangerous things you could do, which is try to run that faster or longer every single time. The goal is not to ever run faster than say, 22, you know, minutes for the four mile tempo. That is adaptation. That is stabilization. But if you're always looking for performance improvements in practice, there's a lot of value in each exercise.
