The Relationship Between Commit Messages and Documentation
It's really difficult to measure productivity, and it's even worse how to measure good practices. If i'm an executive I want to get everyone who's making commits to take bit more seriously what they're writing in the messages. And that's one of the things where you really can only understand it with the benefit of hind sight. So why would quality commit messages be high priorty for me? But when you're actually having a product that's being supported, this is something we depend on as a company.
