What Happened to the Midterm Elections?
Virginia Heffronin writes for Wired and her own substack called Magic and Lost. In a NBC exit poll in which five issues were presented for choice about which mattered most to voters, the top answers were inflation at 32% and abortion at 27%. So the big right wing talking points crime was tied with gun violence at 12% as a major concern and immigration were way down on the list. Republicans invoked inflation mostly to take hits at Joe Biden and to make more inflation with some good corporate tax cuts. Democrats did have proposals on inflation that seem to have appealed to some people.
