The Economic Model of Compliance Versus the Traditional Model of Compliance
I would have thought in the least free countries the citizens would be the most responsive, just because that's what they have to do. But we are doing our very best to control for these background country level differences - so it's not like we're completely not taking those into account. I think you're making a very valid point. There's two models of compliance. And this is why wee found its such a fascinating experience... i want to get away with making the narrowest possible assumption i could ever make about human nature. Qhite, often hasn't it?
