Is There a Way to Face Death Denial?

I was thinking about how religion can be a vehicle for death denial, particularly with certain views of the afterlife. And so I'm wondering if you, where do you situate these hopes of an afterlife or a restored creation? Are these all about death denial? Or how can you embrace them in a way that also faces death squarely? It's such a good and important question.
