Colonel Sanders and the American Dream

In 1925, Colonel Sanders was fired from his job as an insurance salesman. He decided to start a ferryboat company in Louisville, Kentucky. After that, he started making acetylene lamps for farmers who didn't have access to electricity at the time. His business failed when electric generators were invented and he lost all of his profits. The next year, he landed himself a sales job with Michelin Tires.
