Japan and China weren't officially at war yet, but it sure looked like he was heading in that direction. Three Japanese divisions were ordered to march south into the area from Manchariot to deal with the situation. On July 12th they started bombing Tianjin. Jean Kaishik had to take stock of his situation. Jiang Nue, losing Beijing and the rest of North China, was only a national humiliation.
