The War on Conscription and Requisitions

The shared experience of war marks the revolutionary generation. Military service has always afforded an opportunity for upward mobility. But all these civil wars and foreign wars requires bodies to be sacrificed. This then becomes a major driver of resentment against the revolutionary regime. Radicals can demand sterner measures and more clear-eyed leadership.
