What Is the Purpose of Consciousness?

If there is free will, or if there is no free will, then something's been high jack i would say. There are people that have to be in prison forever because they're so dangerous and there's really no we can do to make them less dangerous. Our brains are venous for calories. They burn up about 20 % of our calories. And consciousness is that cowlry burning furnaces. Its most mysterious thing in the actual ket eh. So it seems logical to me that consciousness is very expensive metabolically.
