Tina's Story of Domestic Violence
Tina Turner died after years of suffering from multiple health conditions, including intestinal cancer, stroke and kidney failure. Tina was very open about her experience with domestic violence with her former husband Ike Turner. She described bruised eyes, busted lips, a broken jaw, and many other injuries that sent her to the emergency room. When Tina began to publicly speak about the mistreatment she suffered by the hands of Ike in 1981, it was an incredible act of bravery.
