The Problem of Diversity and the Problem of Ignorance
Schumter: There is no common good in any modern state. People are going to be too diverse, too varied in their interests for there to be any method of identifying something that could plausibly count as the common good. He says even if it were possible to construct something that plausibly could be called the common good, the people wouldn't know what it was. The first problem is the problem of diversity; the second issue is voter ignorance.
