Pow Is Raising Interust Rates to Fight Inflation
The goal of quantitative easing was to crate economic growth through a wealth effect. The idea was if the fed could make ascet prices go up, well, people would be wealthier and they would spend more. If asset prices are collapsing and people are less wealthy, doesn't it stand to reason that they're going to spend less? But pow claims no. There's no indication that anything bad is happening to the consumer, and the consumer is going to change his habits at all based on what's happened.
