Prime minister margaret thatcher had this to say: 'If mister sands persisted in his wish to commit suicide, that was his choice' In the end, thatcher's will had stayed strong, while sand's body had withered into nothing. The practice has its roots deep in irish history and is found also in the hindu tradition.
