The Limits of Lobby Journalism

I was really pleased to read that critique that you wrote in your piece, because it really resonated with me. I do think often there is a bit of frustration, even among lobby journalists themselves, that they don't get to follow up or have a deeper dive on the stories that actually have a big impact across the country. When you're doing it from the outside, you don't get that access that you were just talking about. And if you can't politicise an issue in that way, then it doesn't really enter the battlefield, if you like, of the lobby. Politics cannot be separated from the people that it's supposed to serve.
