The Concept of Cynical Ideology, Right?
Zizek discusses the notion of cynical ideology in his first book drawing on Peter Sloedardike. The idea is that we are creatures functioning within this kind of ideological system, even though we're not aware of what we're doing. In other words, even though the functioning of the system has been unmasked, it is nevertheless a sort of, it does not lose its capacity to hold us in its thrall.
