In the Vedanta Sutra, we also have an extended description of the spiritual exercises that will lead an individual to comprehend his or her identity with Brahmaan. The Yoga School became theistic, God entering the picture as a self of this sort, one unaffected by suffering or actions. Providing further theoretical backbone to spiritual discipline and yet without any obvious initial acceptance of theism is Samkhya philosophy.
