Are You Giving the Fed Credit for the Pandemic?
We dealt with the pandemic as a society by essentially melding monetary policy, or the fed's balance sheet, and physical policy. It was all of the above all in order to prevent a modern day depression. So i think that monetary and physical policy working together were exquisite during the pandemic. But in doing a great job, you end up with an inflationary echo,. at which point you get a huge divergence from the thesis of modern monetary theory. R m m t, as you know, i have never been an m m tr, but sometimes i will look like one.
