The Purpose of Clean and Unclean Food
The distinction between clean and unclean food has nothing to do with good or bad, he says. It's more of a symbolic idea: This is what God says is acceptable to him. What I eat, that's what my God eats; if God doesn't eat it, you shouldn't eat it either. If you can't bring this as an offering to God, why would you want to participate in it yourself?
