In his years in academia, neoliberalism would come up time and again as the main characteristic of the world that we live in. But there were three problems: Neoliberalism was never actually defined; it covered such a vast diversity of phenomena that it's questionable what is its use. And if you have a term that can define from a communist dictator to Margaret Thadse, or it can define the education in the UK, which is supposedly neoliberal, although it's run by the state.
