The Origins of Humanity

Zeus cut all the humans of Earth in two, cut them as one would slice an apple or a hard-boiled egg. With the help of Apollo, the newly split humans were fused together to form what we now understand to be humanity. Aristophanes explains that they often died from hunger and lack of movement because once they found their other halves, they wanted to do nothing else but hold on to them.
