archaeology is informing us about the tradition in a greater way than sometimes our textual sources do in other traditions. In nazareth, you don't have greek materil, you've got stone vessels,. You've got a distinctly jewish material. And it seems that the sight is focused on agriculture and quarrying. Is he a carpenter? Is a quarrier? A quarryman? Well, the term couldt refer to a craftsman in general, but looking at the archaeology of nazareth there, it might be that he was actually quarrying stone t doesn't mean that's all he had to do - i would agree with that.
