The Snub Nassy Eels That Burrow Into Sharks' Hearts

The snub nose eel burrows into a shark's heart and feeds on its blood. In 1992, researchers dissected an 871-pound short-fin make-o shark and found two juvenilesnub nose eels in the shark's heart. The snakes can also use those sharp tails to burst out of the stomachs of predators that have eaten them whole. Their mummified remains have been found inside the body cavity of 11 different predators.
