Did Ellen White Commit Plagiarism?
The Seventh Day Adventist Church has repeatedly addressed these accusations. In 1951, Francis D. Nichols book Ellen G. White Inner Critics gave a synopsis of the charges and provided answers that satisfied the membership for many years. But renewed and intensified charges of plagiarism in the 1970s and early 1980s led the church to begin an extensive study and do Ellen White's borrowing of external material in the production of her works.
