Introduction

The Pacific is still this kind of, you know it is starting to become a lot clearer. There are certain sort of key high moments that I am pretty clear on but there is still a lot of mystery out there. The interesting thing about Boganville, the third marine division there invades there in November 1943 and they do see some fightingbut the sharpest fighting happens in March after the Americans have established a perimeter. That is one of the most intense fighting in the entire Pacific War. So if we just sort of hopscotch around with the Marines Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Guam, Iwo, there's our war actually there isn't.
