How I Learned to Play Chess

My mom actually, my mom told me how to play chess. And I didn't really pick it up until I was eight when I started playing at school. We always had like a ladder at school where we would try to be better than the rest of them. That's where I discovered my competitive side. With chess being sort of male dominating, I took that as a challenge rather than something that was going to demotivate me.
