Is There a Difference Between the Religious and the Scientific Viewpoint?

A story presents you with a compelling way of perceiving the world and acting in it. A tremendous amount of our cognitive structure is something approximating a map. This is part of the tension between the religious viewpoint, let's say, and the scientific viewpoint. It has to do with how you map out the world and how you make your way in the world.
