The Rifkin Award
Charlie Rifkin's father was John Kennedy's ambassador to Luxembourg. He died of a heart attack only three months after landing in Dakar, Senegal when he was five years old. His son created the William Rifkin award that honors intellectual courage and constructive dissent for mid-level officers. It was going on since 1968 and now it is called Harriman Rifkin herder awards.
