The Legacy of an Empire

i think what i'm gently trying to suggest in these films is that the legacy of an empire is a little more complicated than possibly the left imagines. They they often just go, oh, it's just we were horrible and races. But there was a much more subtle effect on us. And if i do want to change society in this country, you're going to have to deal with that sadness and that melancholy and that fear as much as you are going to need to deal with overt racism.
