Is There a Machine in the Chemical System?
There are many possible paths for how this molecule can be oriented. And that becomes a much more difficult thing to analyze and it's something for which we don't have very good sort of human narrative description capabilities. Maybe eventually we will have a much more sophisticated way of manipulating molecules. Right now it's just you throw these buckets of molecules together and you hope they react. But eventually one might have a situation where one can really have what one might think of as programmable matter.
