Calculus - The Most Basic of Orms?

Calculus is the study of how to deal with non-linear processes. If you have an investment, and your money grows 50% every year, it doesn't look like a line any more. On the grand scope, it looks like this curve. But if you zoom in a lot, it just looks like a straight line. It's approximately linear when you sort of men and you have small numbers. And so that, the whole art of calculus is just kind of taking that stuff that we do understand and then trying to say, how do we piece it all together?
