I think of grief as a falling apart. I know it in my bones, not just in a poetic sense when my father died in Nigeria. And Ironicle put Manta Awards, yes, but as a practicing or as a recovering psychologist, I was taught to help the grieving subject recover. So how do we challenge our assumptions of how to find self care and find what we need in our particular circumstances? The words of two thinkers that have helped me navigate the dark waters of extinction and the existential immensity of climate change are Deborah Bird Rose and Tom Van Duren.
