I learn a ton more if I have a concrete problem that I'm like trying to solve rather than, you know, somewhat passively engaging with just a reading list. A lot of expertise or contextualized knowledge comes actually with engaging with a concrete problem. There is not a very effective way for information to then be processed by the students and able to apply that in various contexts. And so lectures are a really, efficient way to transmit information from the lecturer to the student. Whereas there would be an engaging process via small group where you're talking about the content but also reflecting on it as well.
