Project Gutenberg - A New Way to Promote Literacy
A collection of 59,500 books have been digitized and made accessible online. Project Gutenberg is a nonprofit based out of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. The goal of the project was to encourage the creation and distribution of ebooks. Michael Hart saw the electronic versions of books as a way to promote literacy.
