Microsoft rolled out support for web assembly late last year inside of AKS. There are a number of places doing a lot of research to try and say can they extend Kubernetes out toward the edge if the edge nodes can run web assembly, Matt says. The next most surprising thing for us was that we also started to see a lot of people use these to build slackbots or bursty workloads where it might sit silent for a long time but then all of a sudden get a whole bunch of requests.
