The Importance of General Intelligence

I don't believe we can do true AI at the moment, but we're talking about machines making decisions that normally a human would be required to do. There's some really smart machine learning stuff that's applicable right now which is fantastic. But I think when we start to talk about general and super intelligence, for now, it's a bit of a distraction from business as usual. We are absolutely knees deep in some of the research, but I think a lot of businesses are trying to work out what they're going to do with it right now. The framework and the baseline for getting that implemented now is really going to set the scene for whatever might come next.
