Ricetia praazecia, like said, transmitted by the feces of the human body louse. Lice are so specific to their individual host species that they're a separate subspecies. They can live up to four to 12 weeks and generally live in and on our clothing for the entire life cycle. But they're incredibly sensitive to temperature and humidity.
