The Industrialization of the Russian Empire

The industrialization of russia proceeded rapidly in the last decade of the nineteenth century. But after piking in 19 15 and 19 16 and 19 17, russian industry collapsed. The recently formed legions of industrial workers handed in their hammers and returned to their s. jobs. Grappling with the devastated industrial sector was a huge concern for the communist party in the 19 twenties. Their professed programme of dem ratise factories run by and for the workers did not work. It will remain forever a great historical irony that the first great communist revolution succeeded in this land of farmers.
