Are Local Authorities Prepared to Cope With the Afghan Resettlement Program?
Our local authorities actually equipped to deal with what's coming. It's not clear largely because there's still so much uncertainty including on the part of local councils about how exactly the Afghan resettlement program will work. If we operate on the assumption that it's going to be modelled on the Syrian resettlement program then we can expect and I think we've already seen this a large number of local authorities to take part. Most of them still have the infrastructure in place from the Syrian scheme but without the local council level it generally operated well.
