The History of the Green Bean Castrol
The 1950s post-war chapter that I use Green Bean Castrol to tell this story. This really fascinating moment in kind of food history as well as American history where, you know, we're in the beginnings of the Cold War. There's this real need for America to assert its dominance over communist, Soviet Union. And there's all of these things that get trumpeted out as evidence of American superiority but food and industrial food is very much one of them.
