Tolkien's Theory of Language

Max Mueller was a German-born, but mostly Britis. His life was in Britain, I feel, for most of his life. He argued that there was a development in language from a, let's say, a diseased view of what things are. And Tolkien hated that. For Max Mueller, metaphor and language, I mean, language is rational, almost scientific. So the metaphorical part of language is you, mostly to this like primitive way of thinking. It sounds like maybe like proto-planning or something. Tyler McNabb has been working on something like that.
