In physics, you always have noisy data. There's never clean data, so you always have to do some pre processing. In satellite data, because the satellite isn't always at the same location, we always have to somehow do data assimilation before we can even look at the data. Soa convolution al nural network is great for that, because they're good at correlating the the spatial dimension.
