What Is a Man?
LZ Granderson: What it means for a man to be a man is one of the most contested and answered questions in culture right now. He says we can at least all agree that what it means for us to be a men as we are growing up is that we know we're supposed to be strong. LZ: For me, I love my mom, but her being over authoritarian and at different moments of my life experiencing physical abuse caused me to lose agency as a masculine. It's not until living in Costa Rica that I feel like I can actually express my masculinity and boundaries and ways that are good and right by God.
