I don't think the dollar will implode. Even if it declines as the premier world currency, I think it will be a strong currency for like a very long time. The question you're up is falling behind. Japan is undergoing demographic implosion just as South Korea is. Australia is perhaps sometimes flirting with maybe switching to the China camp. But really, the US is like a strong enough economy that the dollar kind of doesn't need the world empire.
