Dennis Lockhart served as the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from 2007 to 2017. In his experience, the Fed stays out of fiscal policy, so therefore is not out there trying to advocate for one course of action or another. The Fed has to deal with whatever is that economy and how it's trending or how it's evolving, and fiscal policy is a factor in that.
