The Yellow Wallpaper

Stephanie: The yellow wallpaper is probably Charlotte Gilman's most well known or widely recognized work. She says it was inspired by an experience she had with a doctor who prescribed her rest and not to write for several months. Stephanie: In 1894, after filing for divorce from her husband, he remarries one of their friends. And so Charlotte sends her daughter Catherine to live with them because there's more security in that life.
