The Storm Theophany Motive
Stormy wind, great cloud. This is stock vocabulary of what biblical scholars call the storm theophany motif. God often comes and encounters people in a storm cloud. The gleaming metal doesn't say that he's looking at an object made of gleaming metal. He's looking at a cloud with fire, again, some sort of fiery luminescence in the middle of it. And this gleaming appearance is going to be referred to later on as we'll see.
