Is Encryption Really Enabled?

encryption is still an enabling technology of the internet and one that we really need. There's a lot of talk in the country, actually, about whether or not governments should be able to break into encrypted systems. Even if you outlawed them, it wouldn't stop people who are already doing illegal things from using them because it's as easy as downloading a piece of software to use them. These technologies are there and freely available.
